The Typism Book 10 project highlights the power of typography as a means of storytelling and artistic expression. My piece, "Bad Decisions Make Good Stories," merges playful messaging with neon-inspired visuals to create an engaging and memorable design. Selected from thousands of international entries, its inclusion in this prestigious publication reflects my dedication to precision, creativity, and the art of expressive lettering. This project represents a significant milestone in my journey as a designer, emphasizing the impact of thoughtful typography in connecting with diverse audiences.
I began by exploring impactful phrases that resonate universally, landing on "Bad Decisions Make Good Stories" for its humorous and relatable tone.
Inspired by neon signage, I aimed to create a modern, vibrant aesthetic that conveys energy and movement, reflecting the playful spirit of the phrase.
Using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, I refined the lettering and added effects to emulate glowing neon, ensuring the design maintained clarity and visual appeal.
After finalizing the design, I submitted it to Typism Book 10, where it advanced through multiple selection rounds before being included in the final print.
